I want to say thank you! I had a couple of pieces of this pattern and wasn’t sure what it was. While I had narrowed it down to Candlewick, the etching was throwing me off! Will be checking this site a lot now! (from Shilo, Manitoba, Canada) |

Great web site. I have been selling Cornflower for a number of years and it was not till a collector came to my house last night to buy , that I learned of this great site. I can now tell future customers of this site where they can learn more about the Crystal they love. Keep up the good work and thanks to the person who told me about this site. Just found your site!! I’m excited because I started collecting DG last year. I bought about 20 pieces and have 2 pieces of the Hughes Cornflower, which I like the best. Would appreciate leads from anyone on where I should look for Cornflower pieces in Atlantic Canada. (from Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland, Canada) |

Wow! The Wonders of the internet! I Too am an avid collector of Hughes, “Cornflower Candlewick”. Probably 50 pieces or so. Finding information and a good purchasing source is very difficult. Any advise or suggestions would be most welcome! This so far has been the best sight I have found. Keep Up The Great Work! (from Victoria , B.C. Canada) |

You have a great website. If you need more information you should contact The Dufferin County Museum. They have a great collection of Cornflower glass and lots of information about it’s history. Talk to Wayne Townsend, he is full of wonderful information. I became interested in Cornflower a couple of years ago, when I found out that my great uncle was an employee of H.J. Hughes. George Scace sold the wares and also did some cutting of the glass. Mr. Hughes also grew up in Dufferin County. The museum is also in the process of writing a book! Keep up the great work.
